As we settle in for the celebration of this Mass, we do so in union with a Church that prays and thanks the Lord without ceasing. From the rising of the sun to its setting, the Eucharist is celebrated by the Church globally without ceasing. In England and Ecuador, in Peru and Poland, in Uganda and Uruguay, in Puerto Rico and the Philippines, the Eucharist is offered to our Heavenly Father, contributing to our unceasing praise of God. Now we contribute our part to this unceasing praise and thanksgiving to Almighty God. We express our thanks and praise to Almighty God, because “It is right and just.” This is our response to the priest’s invitation “Let us give thanks to the Lord our God, “ It is right and just.”
